Separation process and equipment selection for methanol and dichloroethane

The use of solvent extraction for the separation of methanol and dichloroethane has a significant effect and is currently a commonly used separation method. The reason why solvent extraction is widely used is because of its advantages:

1. The solvent extraction method is simple and convenient to operate, with good separation effect;
2. Solvents are cheap and easy to obtain, can be recycled, and save investment costs.

Compared to other extraction equipment, liquid liquid centrifugal extractors have fundamental differences in their working principles. A centrifugal extractor relies on centrifugal force to quickly mix and separate two-phase liquids. The specific workflow is as follows:

The light and heavy two-phase solution is fed into the annular mixing zone formed between the drum and the shell in a certain proportion from the two feed pipe openings. With the help of the rotation of the drum, the two phases are quickly mixed and dispersed through the turbine disc and impeller, and the two-phase solution obtains sufficient mass transfer. Complete the mixed mass transfer process.

The mixed liquid enters the drum under the action of the vortex plate, and in the compartment area formed by the Fu plate, the mixed liquid quickly rotates synchronously with the drum. Under the action of centrifugal force, the heavier phase liquid gradually moves away from the center of the drum and towards the wall of the drum during the upward flow process; The light phase liquid with a small specific gravity gradually moves away from the drum wall and towards the center. The clarified two-phase liquid eventually enters the collection chamber through their respective weir plates and is led out of the machine through a guide pipe, completing the two-phase separation process.
